The paper shows how triamyl arsenites are obtained through the action of amyl alcohol on the arsenites of alkaline metals. The yield of triamyl arsenites is higher if arsenites of alkali metals (III) are acidified (HCl ,H2SO4) beforehand to a strong acidic level. Without individual separation the products of interaction are processed by amyl alcohol using azeotropic drying method. Through hydrolization of triamyl arseninte arsenic (III) oxide of high purity is obtained.
The major drawback of the production of arsenites (III) of alkaline metals is that about 5-10% of the product gets in streams and rivers and causes pollution of nature with these toxic compounds. The source of pollution is the mother liquor of the reaction mixture. If the latter is maximally dried out with the purpose of improving the yield of targeted product, then the quality of the obtained specimen worsens significantly. Nowadays, various methods have been developed and are applied to help prevent this situation. Nevertheless, the issue of incineration of the arsenites of alkaline metals still remains to be acute.
